Danville Fire responds to Church Ave. structure fire

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR)– The Danville Fire Department reports responding to a structure fire on Church Ave early morning Saturday, April 27.

According to the fire department, crews were dispatched at 5:00 a.m. to the 400-block of Church Ave. Firefighters arrived to find a detached garage fully engulfed with flames.

Crews immediately set up attack lines and managed to extinguish the fire.

As of their last update, crews were still on the scene managing hot spots due to the roof and walls collapsing in.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire department. WFXR News will update this story as further information is released.
