Danica Patrick’s father T.J. is a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. So he wanted to make his first meeting with Aaron Rodgers a memorable one.

Patrick told Autoweek that he had an idea to tackle Rodgers while wearing the jersey of longtime Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher when Patrick introduced her boyfriend to the family. Unfortunately for all of us, he didn’t follow through on that idea.

“Actually, the first time we met him I told the kids I was going to wear my Brian Urlacher jersey and tackle him,” T.J. Patrick told Autoweek. “I couldn’t find it. He walked in and asked, ‘Where is your jersey?’ I told him I couldn’t find it. He said, ‘I would respect you a lot more if you had it on.’

“He’s good about it. He knows. He is very intelligent and still has a sense a humor.”

Patrick and Rodgers have been dating for approximately six months after Patrick broke up with longtime boyfriend and fellow racer Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Her appearance in the Indianapolis 500 on May 27 will be her final major auto race before she retires.

Her last NASCAR race was February’s Daytona 500 where she was caught in a big crash. The Green Bay Packers QB was in attendance for that race and watched it from atop Patrick’s pit box.
