YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Two days from St. Patrick’s Day and Midstaters celebrate in different ways. For some, a little green beer will do, but there is an authentic local Irish dance school that preparing not only for a parade but also a weekend full of tradition.

The studio at Ni Riain School of Irish Dance in York, Pennsylvania, is doing five performances this weekend. On Friday, they were getting ready by running through the dances as if they were performances.

The kids are really excited to get up and show everyone what they’ve been learning the entire year.

“All the hard work I put in these last couple months finally paid off,” dance student Allyson Folkemer said. “I’m getting to do my best in front of a crowd of people, which I love.”

“We are trying to also bring the spirit of it here, which is to get them to enjoy it, and to preserve the tradition,” owner Holly Lantegine-Marrow said.
