Damian Lillard's Debut Album 'The Letter O' Features Lil Wayne
Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers point guard, is set to release his debut album The Letter O tonight. The NBA star established himself as a skilled rapper earlier in the year, showing off his ability in a freestyle on Sway in the Morning. He raps under the moniker Dame D.O.L.L.A., an acronym for Different On Levels the Lord Allowed. The former Rookie of the Year has been passionate about music since he was in high school, and his years of writing rhymes will finally culminate with the release of his album.
The album's title, The Letter O, is a tribute to the number on his jersey as well as a handful of cities that have been significant in his life, including his hometown, Oakland and the city where he attended college, Ogden, Utah.
Lillard took to Twitter to announce his collaborators, teasing guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Raphael Saadiq, Jamie Foxx, and Marsha Ambrosius. The album will be an independent release, and he plans to distribute it through TuneCore.
Check out his album announcement below, and watch his Sway in the Morning freestyle under the tweet.
