Damaged gas line closes roadway in JCC

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A damaged gas line has caused all lanes of traffic to be closed on Pocahontas Trail.

Motorist should use the the following alternate routes to avoid delays:

  • Merrimac Trail/Jefferson Avenue

  • Interstate 64

Crews are on the scene addressing the damage, but it will likely take several hours for them to complete the repairs.

Officials did not say what caused the gas leak.
