Dallas man Derrick Lambert's 'I ain't fresh?' outfit goes viral, earns LRG shopping spree
Derrick Lambert tried minding his own business. He went to an Arlington, Texas, Whataburger in a classic outfit — a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt, starched jeans, and a pair of New Balance 574s.
When Lambert got his order to go, a group of random women recorded him on their social media and mocked him for his wardrobe. While the women didn’t think his fit was fresh, the internet sure did.
In the short viral clip, Lambert is seen replying to the women, “I ain’t fresh?” And a meme was born. Lambert’s response and outfit became a viral sensation, earning him a shopping spree with clothing brand LRG.

Who is Derrick Lambert?
According to Complex, Lambert is originally from Monticello, Arkansas, but has lived in Texas for the past three years. Lambert does not use social media, but a family member informed him that he became a social media trend.
“Oh man, it was crazy,” he told Complex. “I don't have Twitter. I saw it on TikTok. My cousin sent me a message, so I called her and she was like, ‘Yeah, you went viral.’ I said, ‘Oh my gosh, man.’ I read the comments expecting them to be bashing me and they were defending me. Like every comment. So, I was heated that the video got posted, but I liked the reaction of people saying they were messed up and don’t know what they’re talking about. That was crazy.”
LRG takes Lambert on shopping spree
On March 26, LRG posted an ad on Instagram with Lambert in his crouched pose. The clothing brand took him on a shopping spree at Dillard’s in Dallas. On March 28, LRG and Lambert flew to New Orleans for a photo shoot on Bourbon Street. That same night, Lambert was sitting courtside at the Pelicans game.
'I ain’t fresh' TikTok trend
Several users on TikTok are using the “I ain’t fresh” tagline and either putting together their own fresh fits or creating their own skits with Lambert’s voice from the original video.
Several users on X, formally known as Twitter, came to Lambert’s defense of his clothing.
