Dallas County names new county attorney
Longtime assistant attorney Jeannine Ritchie is the new county attorney for Dallas County.
The Dallas County Board of Supervisors selected Ritchie on Dec. 20 to replace Chuck Sinnard, whom Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed as a district judge covering Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Madison, Marion and Warren counties.
Sinnard was just reelected as county attorney in November; Ritchie will serve the remainder of his four-year term.
Ritchie was hired as an assistant county attorney in Dallas County in 1989 and has served in that role since. She was named the first assistant under Sinnard and former county attorney Wayne Reisetter.
Ritchie was born and raised in Van Meter and attended college and law school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
