Dale County tornado rated an EF-1, NWS
DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A tornado that hit southern Dale County has been graded as an EF-1 according to a report for the National Weather Service.
That tornado also had wind speeds of 105 miles per hour.
The Path length of the tornado was 4.4 miles with a width of 1,020 yards.
No injuries have been reported in the storm.
The NWS report found that the tornado touched down in a wooded area just west of Mabson Abry rd.
There was extensive tree damage along Mabson Abry Rd., Caldonia Way, and East County Road 36.
One home saw over half of its roofing material removed and a well-built outbuilding in the backyard had its doors blown in.
A home lost a roof on the southern end of the home and damage to the back porch.
The report shows that the tornado was at its strongest when it was going through this part of Dale County.
Aerial photos indicated that tree damage happened a bit further north along Herman Strickland Road and then east through a forested area, including Cedar Creek and along CRs 334 & 337.
The tornado lifted before reaching Ward Creek.
