Dairy Queen to open freezer full of Blizzards’ past

(WJW) – Dairy Queen has announced the return of some of its most iconic Blizzard flavors.

A newly launched website unveiled the Dairy Queen FREEZER.

According to the site, “The DQ FREEZER isn’t an ordinary freezer, it’s an extraordinary freezer, holding all of the Blizzard Treat flavors ever created.”

In a corresponding press release, the company said behind the doors of the freezer sit more than 100 blizzard flavors — some that have not been seen in nearly 40 years.

The first three flavors making a comeback are Frosted Animal Cookie, Brownie Batter, and Cotton Candy. They will appear on this year’s Summer Blizzard Menu.

“This summer, we invite all fans to celebrate the return of their all-time favorite flavors while creating new memories with family and friends,” Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing for Dairy Queen, said in a statement.

The company is also adding three new blizzards to its summer menu: Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Party, Picnic Peach Cobbler and Ultimate Cookie.

As for which flavors will be re-released next, DQ said to check back for updates.
