A daily look at the NHL lockout

A look at the 101st day of the NHL lockout

NHL LOCKOUT AT A GLANCE

DATE: Tuesday, Dec. 25.

DAY: 101.

LAST NEGOTIATIONS: In-person talks Dec. 13 in New Jersey. Bargaining conference call Dec. 14.

NEXT NEGOTIATIONS: None scheduled.

GAMES LOST: 625 (all games through Jan. 14, including New Year's Day Winter Classic, and All-Star weekend).

QUIET CHRISTMAS: The NHL and players' association didn't speak before the Christmas holiday, but will likely be back in touch with each other on Wednesday. The sides will need to make plans to meet soon in order to reach a deal before the entire season is lost.

WHAT WE MISSED: There were no games scheduled for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

ON THIS DAY LAST YEAR: Toronto Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson got the contract extension he said on Twitter that he wanted. Wilson, who was in the final year of a four-year contract, took to Twitter two days earlier to drop hints that he was looking for a new deal.
