Daily Digit is the story behind the numbers that make our world work. Today we’re looking at how much allowance children receive and what they have to do to get it. Kids receive an average of $17 per week in pocket money, which collectively adds up to about $41 billion a year. However, only 53 percent of parents give an allowance, and 83 percent of those who do require their children to perform at least one chore in exchange for their pay. How much did you get as a kid?
