Dad Live Streams Suicide as Viewers Plead With Him to Stop
A father live streamed his suicide as friends and family begged him to put down his gun.
Ayhan Uzun, 54, killed himself on Facebook, saying he was distraught that his daughter did not obtain his permission before becoming engaged, according to international reports.

“Nobody asked about me, nobody treated me like a man," he said from his home in Turkey, according to translations provided by Central European News and other media outlets. "My father-in-law took my place and without having a right, he approved my daughter’s wedding."
Viewers hit “sad” and “wow” emojis as Uzun talked about his displeasure and held a handgun to his head.
He complained that he learned about his daughter’s engagement in a telephone call, instead of in person.
“Maybe some of you will call this a show," he said. "I do not want anybody to go through this thing that I am going through."
He pulled the trigger after counting to three, saying, “Goodbye. I am leaving. Take good care of yourselves.”

He then collapsed on the floor.
His death is another entry in the list of people who have live streamed their suicides, several of them American teenagers.
Last year, 12-year-old Katelyn Nicole Davis hanged herself from a tree in a video that played for more than 40 minutes. In January, 14-year-old Nakia Venant hanged herself with a scarf in the bathroom of her Florida foster home and live streamed it on Facebook. Her video lasted two hours.
Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has said he would add 3,000 employees dedicated to monitoring videos and posts for disturbing content.
