D11 recognizes educators with Teacher Impact Award

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs School District 11 announced on Tuesday, May 21 the introduction of the new Teacher Impact Award.

The award celebrates educators’ exceptional dedication and achievements. The award is made possible by a donation from The Dakota Foundation.

On Monday, May 20, D11 recognized and rewarded four teachers with an award of $11,000 each. The award is given to educators whose students have demonstrated significant growth and achievement. Winners were selected based on evidenced data and recommendations from principals, colleagues, and students.

“The #1 way to student achievement is access to high-quality instruction,” said Superintendent Michael Gaal. “In The Colorado Springs School District 11, we are humbled to have support from the Dakota Foundation and the Board of Education to celebrate our most excellent teachers with $11K cash rewards for demonstrating that over this last academic year.”
