Cypress Bay High, Falcon Cove Middle to reopen Friday after water main break

Cypress Bay High School and adjacent Falcon Cove Middle School in Weston will reopen Friday after a water main break left the schools without water for one day, city and School District officials said.

Both schools are under a boil-water notice, city officials said.

The city’s Public Works Department repaired the break, which was on Cypress Bay High School’s campus, early Thursday morning. The break was caused by a contractor working inside the campus who was drilling underground, according to the city’s news release.

While the schools are under a boil-water notice “due to the drop in water pressure” on campus, city officials said there are not any notices elsewhere in Weston.

“The City of Weston Public Works Department worked through the night to resolve the matter, so our campus will fully reopen on Friday, April 5th,” Cypress Bay High School Principal Kassandra Fried said in a message to parents Thursday. “This includes all regularly scheduled before and after school activities. Water bottles will be available throughout the school for students and staff.”
