Cyclist in his 20s dead in Caledon after being struck by vehicle

A cyclist in his 20s is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in Caledon on Tuesday night, police say.

The collision between the cyclist and a passenger vehicle happened in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and King Street. Police were called to the scene at about 6:55 p.m.

Caledon's Ontario Provincial Police detachment said the cyclist was taken with life-threatening injuries to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A stretch of Winston Churchill Boulevard was closed on Tuesday night as officers investigated.
