- Climbing specialist Thibaut Pinot is playing down his chances of winning the Tour of Spain despite finishing third in this year's Tour de France.

The 24-year-old Frenchman is instead targeting just a stage win for his French FDJ.fr team in the last of the Grand Tours which gets under way on Saturday.

The team's sporting director Marc Madiot said the team were also looking at other stage victories principally through French sprint ace Nacer Bouhanni.

"The prime aim is a stage victory," said Madiot.

"We are looking firstly at Nacer Bouhanni, the best sprinter at the Tour of Italy, but also Thibaut Pinot who is really eager to have the chance to raise his arms at the finish line."
