Cyber Monday was Amazon's biggest shopping day in history -- Here were the top-selling items

The day of deals has since transformed into a holiday of its own, giving birth to days of discounts that have stretched far beyond the weekend following Thanksgiving.

Enter Cyber Monday, the go-to online shopping day where dedicated consumers and bargain hunters alike aim to score ahead of the holidays on big-ticket electronic items and other lifestyle necessities.

It goes without saying that the e-commerce behemoth Amazon is the leader when it comes to attracting and retaining customers for Cyber Monday — and this year’s number show that it beat even its own expectations.

This Monday, November 26, was Amazon’s single biggest shopping day in the company’s history, with consumers purchasing over 180 million items during the ‘Turkey 5’, the company's name for the five days of shopping from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday.

Customers on the site also purchased more than 18 million toys and 13 million Fashion items between Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.
