UPDATE: Power restored after CWLP responds to Springfield outage

Update at 7:35 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Power has been restored in Springfield after a nearly 3-hour outage affected almost 130 people.

CWLP’s outage map reports no outages are currently impacting the community. Crews successfully repaired the issue a half-hour ahead of schedule, as a 6:30 p.m. update on their Facebook page said power was expected to be restored by 8 p.m.


SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Crews from City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) notified the public of a power outage currently affecting more than 100 people in Springfield.

The outage is impacting locations west of Veterans Parkway, along Rickard Road and West Lawrence Avenue. Officials with CWLP said lines are down due to tree damage near Bemis Heights Road. They are working on repairs and possibly bringing a tree crew to the scene.
