Cuomo resets western NY trip to sign state budget

Cuomo reschedules western NY trip to sign state budget; bad weather grounded Monday flight

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo will give it another try as he plans to head to western New York to sign the state budget that was passed by the Legislature last week.

Cuomo had planned to fly to Buffalo and Rochester on Monday, but bad weather forced him to postpone the trip.

The governor has rescheduled the ceremonial signings of the spending plan for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the University of Buffalo's South Campus and at 2:30 p.m. at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

The $135 billion state budget was passed by the Assembly late last Thursday night, three days before the March 31 deadline. The Senate approved the plan a day earlier.

The Legislature has passed on-time budgets for three consecutive years after a 25-year span of mostly late budgets.
