Cuomo hits the skids when it comes to favorability among NYers, with Mayor Adams not far behind: poll

New Yorkers still remember ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and they’re still not thrilled with him.

The ex-gov suffered from the worst favorability rate among state voters out of 32 political figures in a Slingshot Strategies poll conducted and released this week.

Just 33% of respondents gave Cuomo a very or somewhat favorable rating, while more than 50% deemed him unfavorable or somewhat unfavorable.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams was next in line for the dubious distinction, garnering a 44% unfavorable rating.

The online poll included responses from around 1,000 New York voters across the state.

But the survey also found that while Cuomo may suffer in the likeability department, only about 4% of respondents indicated they’d never heard of him, making him the second-most recognizable of the 32 politicians the poll asked about.

President Biden was the most recognizable in the poll.

Cuomo is rumored to be considering making a comeback bid for public office, including a possible run for New York City mayor.

“We generally don’t comment on polls,” Rich Azzopardi, a rep for the former governor, told The Post on Friday.

Meanwhile, Gov. Kathy Hochul received a 40% unfavorable rate compared to a 44% favorable rate.

The Western New York native is notably increasing her statewide name recognition, with only 7% of respondents indicating they hadn’t heard of her.

Hochul’s campaign also declined to comment.

Only 22% of respondents gave Adams a favorable view.

Hizzoner is facing a re-election challenge from state Sen. Zellnor Myrie (D-Brooklyn), who soft-launched his campaign this week. Myrie was not included in Slingshot’s poll.
