Cumberland Valley wins first District III Class 6A title over Chambersburg

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) — Cumberland Valley won its first-ever PIAA District III Class 6A Championship 48-39 over Chambersburg on Friday, March 1, 2023

Cumberland Valley Head Coach David Vespignani said his group was playing with extra motivation after the Eagles lost in overtime to Reading last season in the district title game.

Creston Austin led the way for the Eagles with 17 points in the win.

Cumberland Valley is now 24-3 on the year, and looks ahead to their state tournament seeding and matchup.

The PIAA District III Championships were held inside Giant Center on Wednesday, February 28 through Friday, March 1.
