Cumberland County mother accused of choking, biting, headbutting child

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – A Cumberland County mother is accused of assaulting her child during an argument two days before Mother’s Day.

Middlesex Township Police say on May 10, officers responded to a Carlisle home for a physical domestic incident between a mother and her juvenile daughter.

Police say the 37-year-old mother had placed her daughter in a choke hold, kicked, bit, and headbutted her, causing injury.

The woman was taken to Cumberland County Prison and is facing charges of strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, and simple assault. Her bail was set at $10,000 and a preliminary hearing is set for June 12.
