CSUB offering free workshop on tenant rights, protections

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — California State University, Bakersfield announced a partnership with the Law Firm of H.A. Sala, Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance and Beale Memorial Library to offer a free workshop next month regarding tenant rights.

According to CSUB, the workshop is designed to educate tenants about their rights and protections. The first half of the workshop will consist of presentations by local attorneys, while the second half of the workshop will allow the audience to ask questions.

Attorneys will educate attendees on tenant rights and protections on a range of housing issues, including the eviction process, housing discrimination, rent control, including more on legislation signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom to address California’s housing insecurity crisis, CSUB said.

The workshop is scheduled for Friday, March 1 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Beale Memorial Library, located at 701 Truxtun Ave. Admission is free, according to CSUB.
