CSPD: Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on Platte Avenue

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a pedestrian has died after a hit-and-run crash in the overnight hours of Friday, April 26.

According to CSPD, on Friday at around 1:15 a.m. officers were called to the intersection of East Platte Avenue and North Academy Boulevard about a hit-and-run crash. When officers arrived they found a pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers determined the pedestrian was riding a scooter east on Platte Avenue when they were hit by a vehicle that left the scene.

The Major Crash Team was called in and it is investigating.
