CSPD narcotics unit makes large drug, weapons bust

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Thursday, March 7, numerous law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant on the west side in connection to a drug trafficking investigation and recovered a large amount of weapons, guns, cash, and stolen vehicles.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), Metro Narcotics detectives along with the FBI Denver SWAT team and FBI Colorado Springs Field Office conducted the search warrant in the 1000 block of Honey Locust Court, on the west side, north of Old Colorado City.

The search was part of an ongoing investigation into a drug trafficking organization. CSPD said several members of the organization had already been federally indicted in late 2023 in connection to this investigation.

CSPD said the search warrant was the culmination of undercover work, which led to the identification of probable cause, the Honey Locust address, as well as a storage unit.

Through the warrant, CSPD said detectives recovered:

  • Two shotguns

  • Three rifles

  • Six handguns, two of them stolen

  • 1170.5 grams (2.5 pounds) of fentanyl

  • 87.85 grams of methamphetamine

  • Two stolen ATVs

  • 24 grams of cocaine

  • $4,231 in U.S. currency
