CSPD K9 Unit welcomes Officer Dawson and K9 Loki

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Sunday, Apr. 28, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) introduced the newest team to the CSPD K9 Unit. Officer Dawson and K9 Loki have spent the last 6 weeks doing initial training and certification at Shallow Creek Kennels in PA and are now back in the Springs.

The team will undergo and complete additional scenario-based training, said CSPD, in preparation for field training this summer.

Loki is a Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd mix, born in the Netherlands. He is certified in both apprehension and narcotics detection. He and Officer Dawson will be out on the road soon. Heartfelt thanks to them, and all our local first responders, for keeping our city safe.
