Crying children lead officers to find mom passed out in hotel, police say

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jamestown police say a mom abused drugs and fell asleep, leaving her three children unattended in a hotel room.

Just after midnight Monday morning, officers responded to the hotel on the west side of the city after a report of children screaming and crying inside.

Police say they spoke with hotel staff, who said the cries had been happening for about 40 minutes. When the children were checked on, their mother was asleep and could not be woken up, police said.

According to police, she was under the influence of meth and had been abusing prescribed medications.

“Staff observed drug paraphernalia in the bathroom of the room,” police said.

Noel Luciano, 43, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
