Cruise ship returns to Baltimore after fire

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Royal Caribbean cruise ship Grandeur of the Seas has returned to the Port of Baltimore after a fire damaged it.

The ship arrived at the port Thursday and was to conduct a one-night sail for travel agents. It is scheduled to sail with passengers on the weekend.

Some 2,200 passengers and nearly 800 crewmembers were on board when a fire broke out on May 27 while the ship was sailing to the Bahamas. No one was injured in the fire, and the cause still has not been determined.

The ship underwent repairs in the Bahamas. Several cruises were canceled.
