Crime Stoppers | Suspects sought in brawl, shooting at Champaign gas station

May 23—CHAMPAIGN — Champaign County Crime Stoppers needs help finding the people responsible for a beating and shooting earlier this month at a Champaign gas station.

About 3 a.m. May 13, police were sent to Mach 1, 902 Bloomington Road, to help with a rowdy crowd.

As they arrived, they saw a fight going on and heard a gunshot from the same area.

As the crowd quickly dispersed, officers found two women with injuries.

A 36-year-old Champaign woman had been punched in the head.

The other woman, 40, worked in the store and suffered bruises from being punched and a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the right shoulder.

Both women were treated there before being taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

Police ask any resident or business in the area with exterior surveillance cameras and/or persons with cellphone video to review the footage for any suspicious people or vehicles in the area around that time that could help in their investigation.
