Crews working rollover crash on I-70

UPDATE: At 8:35 a.m. two vehicles were traveling west on I-70. The vehicles crashed when one tried to change lanes. A 2002 Chevy Impala went off the road and rolled several times before coming to rest on its top. A 23-year-old from Lawrence was taken to an area hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) is on the scene of a rollover crash on I-70 east of Topeka.

As of 8:59 a.m., first responders were at the crash scene on I-70 westbound before the Topeka service exit.

A 27 News employee said one car was on its top in the ditch of the Kansas Turnpike and broken glass littered the northern lane of the highway. Multiple emergency vehicles were on the scene. Several semi-trucks were stopped along the shoulder of the highway.

The crash had traffic in the area down to one lane while crews accessed the scene.
