Crews working to restore power in L.A. neighborhood after cables snap

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews are on the scene of a power outage in the San Fernando Valley early Tuesday morning.

According to an LADWP spokesperson, the outage was reported at 12:22 a.m. near the intersection of San Fernando Mission Boulevard and Sharp Avenue in the Mission Hills neighborhood.

Up to 281 homes were without power as of 6:15 a.m., the spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.

A cable used to support the power poles appeared to have snapped and fell onto high voltage power lines, preliminary information indicates. What caused the cable to snap is not currently known.

Power was restored around 9 a.m.
