Crews restore power in Grand Rapids, East Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — More than 10,000 customers in Grand Rapids and East Grand Rapids lost power for a time Tuesday.

According to the Consumers Energy outage map, the outage affected around 10,123 customers in Grand Rapids, East Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Township.

The power outage was reported shortly before noon, according to the outage map. Consumers Energy says it was caused by “an issue with equipment at a substation.”

Service was restored before 1:45 p.m.
