Crews replacing Pawleys Island water main

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WBTW) — Water service on Pawleys Island will be disrupted on Thursday as workers replace a water main south of the South Causeway, officials said.

The work being done by the Georgetown County Water and Sewer District is expected to be completed by the end of the week. The work also involves replacing a fire hydrant at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and the South Causeway.

During the work, officials said water service in the area between the north and south causeways this section of the island will be interrupted for about four hours. Additional disruptions are also possible south of the South Causeway.
