Creston Police report - March 11, 2024

Mar. 11—Skylar James Boles, 22, of Skidmore, Missouri, was taken into custody 9:02 a.m. March 8 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, first offense.

According to Union County District Court documents, Boles was to appear Feb. 23 for arraignment on the original charge and did not.

Boles was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from for time served per court order.

Dennis E. Brown, 64, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:10 a.m. March 9 in the 400 block of South Sumner Street on the charge of possession of controlled substance — marijuana, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 8:54 a.m. officers stopped a 2004 Honda CR-V for traveling above the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Brown. Creston Police K-9 Baxo was deployed outside of the vehicle and gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics. Brown made statements about a marijuana pipe in the vehicle.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and a wood marijuana pipe containing residue and a baggie containing a small amount of marijuana were located.

Brown was transported the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.

Rory A. Davis, 20, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:09 p.m. March 9 at Kirby and McKinley streets on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of violation of probation. Davis was additionally charged with interference of official acts and possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, first offense.

According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, Davis was to appear in court Jan. 26 for a hearing on the original charge, and did not appear.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:06 p.m., Davis ran from uniformed officers attempting to take him into custody for an active warrant. Creston Police K-9 Baxo gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle Davis was driving. A probable cause search resulted in officers locating a small amount of marijuana on a rolling tray in the vehicle.

Davis was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $5,300 cash or approved surety bond.

Alicia E. Lovell, 40, of Creston, was taken into custody 5:33 p.m. March 10 at Iowa State Savings Bank on the charge of driving while suspended.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 5:29 p.m. Lovell was observed driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu on Highway 34. Lovell has a suspended license.

Lovell was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.
