Three Schnucks cheese products have been recalled voluntarily by Schnucks Markets Inc. due to possible salmonella contamination, the company announced recently.

The recalled products include Schnucks Whip Cream Spread, Schnucks Strawberry Spread, and Schnucks Cream Cheese Spread, all of which could be contaminated with salmonella, putting consumers at risk of potentially life-threatening infection. The following cream cheese spreads are affected by this recall:

  • Schnucks Whip Cream Spread, UPC: 4131858005, best-by-date: August 8, 2024.

  • Schnucks Strawberry Spread, UPC: 4131858007, best-by-date: Sept. 8, 2024.

  • Schnucks Cream Cheese Spread, UPC: 4131858023, best-by-date: Oct. 8, 2024.

If you are in possession of any of these products, the company urges you to discard of them or return them to the nearest Schnucks store for a full refund.

If consumed, these products may lead to salmonellosis, an infection that can cause symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps within six hours to six days. People with weakened immune systems, older adults, and infants are at higher risk.
