'Crazy Rich Asians' director Jon M. Chu on how they wanted him to change the title of his movie

A quarter century since the release of The Joy Luck Club in theaters, a Hollywood film featuring an all-Asian cast has finally returned to theaters in the form of Crazy Rich Asians. The romantic comedy, which is projecting to earn over $30M in its opening weekend, was adapted from the hit 2013 novel of the same name by author Kevin Kwan. Any time a book is adapted for a film, things are changed so we sat down with director Jon M. Chu to discuss alterations, deleted scenes, and some of the worst conventional wisdom he was told before filming.
