Texas woman killed, 3 others injured in Palm Harbor crash: FHP

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Four vehicles were involved in a crash that left a Texas woman dead and three others injured in Palm Harbor on Thursday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash, which happened shortly after 1:30 p.m., shut down East Lake Road in both directions.

Troopers said a 21-year-old Clearwater man was driving a Chevy Tahoe, heading northbound on East Lake, and made an “improper lane change” to avoid traffic that was stopped.

The Tahoe crashed into the right side of a Chevy Camaro driven by a 39-year-old woman from San Antonio, Texas.

The woman’s vehicle went into the southbound lanes and struck a Ford Expedition driven by a 59-year-old woman from New Port Richey.

The Camaro started rotating and was struck by an H2 Hummer driven by a 54-year-old man from New Port Richey.

The Texas woman was taken to the hospital, where she later died. The two drivers from New Port Richey suffered minor injuries. The Clearwater man was not hurt, according to troopers.
