Crash on Rt. 58 near Exxon injures two

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The Chesapeake Police Department responded to a crash on Route 58 on Friday afternoon.

According to officials, police were notified at 12:40 p.m. of an accident at the intersection of Route 58 and Bisco Street.

An investigation revealed a vehicle was traveling westbound, towards Suffolk, and turned on Bisco Street in front of an Exxon, failing to yield the right of way to a vehicle that was traveling eastbound, resulting in the crash.

Two people were injured as a result of the crash and transferred to a local hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The crash caused the road to be reduced to one lane while crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes have since been reopened.
