7 hurt after driver runs red light on Kipling, police say

DENVER (KDVR) — Seven people were hurt and Kipling Street was closed on Tuesday in Wheat Ridge after police said a driver ran a red light, causing a three-vehicle crash.

Four teens and three adults were transported to the hospital, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department. The four teens were in the at-fault vehicle, which was traveling on northbound Kipling, police said.

Police said their injuries were “significant” but did not appear life-threatening. The department initially said six people were hurt but later updated the number to seven.

Arvada Fire first said it was responding to the crash at 1:25 p.m.

Kipling was closed for the investigation from West 50th Avenue to West 58th Avenue. It reopened just before 3:45 p.m.
