Crash kills man in Hickory Hill; pedestrian dead on Union

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Memphis on Wednesday night, police said.

The wreck happened at 8 p.m. at Hickory Hill Road and East Shelby Drive.

One man was taken to Regional One in critical condition, but police reported a few minutes later that he did not survive his injuries.

Meanwhile across town, police said a pedestrian was struck by a sedan in a crash at Union Avenue and Danny Thomas around 7:45.

He was taken to Regional One but did not survive his injuries.

Police said the responsible driver stayed on the scene. Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian was walking in the roadway.
