Crash involving pedestrian on N. Military Hwy. in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police responded to a crash involving a pedestrian in the 7400 block of North Military Highway Monday afternoon.

The call for the crash came in just after 4 p.m.

Officers arrived to find a 62-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries.

According to witnesses, a woman was trying to cross the intersection at Johnstons Road and North Military Highway when a Chevy pick-up traveling on Johnstons Road turned onto North Military Highway and struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

Witnesses said the woman went airborne and was bleeding when they came to her aid.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Norfolk Police said the driver involved remained on scene.
