I-24 East near Hwy 127 in Coffee County reopens after crash

COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A crash involving multiple vehicles shut down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 near Highway 127 in Coffee County Monday evening.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) said the crash happened just after 5 p.m. Monday, April 29 on I-24 East near mile marker 122 and involved multiple vehicles.

All eastbound lanes of I-24 were closed for several hours while authorities worked to clear the crash.

Drivers were being diverted at Exit 117 and were asked to find an alternate route if possible, according to TDOT officials.

The interstate has since reopened.
