‘Crash Bandicoot’: Remastered ‘N. Sane Trilogy’ drops in June

Crash is coming back! The original games starring the spinning, jumping, and wumpa fruit-loving marsupial are getting remastered for the PlayStation 4 in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which Activision announced Thursday will drop on June 30.

In addition to an announcement video, featuring Crash sprinting away from a giant boulder, PlayStation released a still of baddie Doctor Neo Cortex torturing our hero.

The N. Sane Trilogy is “a AAA remaster” of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped that “plays as close to the original as possible,” game director Dan Tanguay explained in an interview with the official PlayStation blog.

“The addition of real-time lighting in a PBR engine, along with an increase in texture size, can sometimes make our environments look different than the originals,” art lead Dustin King said. “Generally, while we strive to recreate each level so it looks and feels like the original, we also want to make sure that environments are fun, colorful, and read well in the fast-paced action with the addition of the new technology we are using.”

The voice cast for the trilogy will feature Fred Tatasciore (Dingodile, Koala Kong, Komodo), Debi Derryberry (Coco, Tawna), Greg Eagles (Aku Aku), Dwight Schultz (Papu, Lab Assistant), Maurice LaMarche (Nitrous Brio, Lab Assistant), John DiMaggio (Uka, Tiny Tiger), Jess Harnell (Crash Bandicoot, Pinstripe Potoroo, Ripper Roo), Corey Burton (Doctor N. Gin, Doctor N. Tropy, Baby Cortex), and Lex Lang (Dr. Neo Cortex).
