Cranberries music sales go up by 900,000% following Dolores O'Riordan's sudden death
After Cranberries singer Delores O’Riordan, 46, unexpectedly passed away on 15 January, the band’s music sales have gone through the roof.
According to TMZ, album sales increased by over 900,000%, after both her solo music and band efforts practically took over the Amazon and iTunes charts.
The site also reports that Delores was said to have been ‘dreadfully depressed,’ according to a close source, but the unexpected cause of her death is still unknown.
The singer was discovered in her room at the Hilton, Park Lane Hotel. She was in London for a recording session with the band Bad Wolves.
She’d previously opened up about her mental health to Metro, saying: ‘There are two ends of the spectrum — you can get extremely depressed and dark and lose interest in the things you love to do, then you can get super manic.’
‘I was at the hypomanic side of the spectrum on and off for a long period but generally you can only last at that end for around three months before you hit rock bottom and go down into depression.’

The band’s album, Something Else, was the biggest increase which recorded a sales boost of 913,350%.
No Need to Argue and Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? are also in the top 20, with Greatest Hits in second spot. Their single Linger is also back inside the top 10.
The band are at numbers three and six, 14, 17, 18, and 19 respectively, in Amazon’s CD and vinyl best sellers, too.

And it’s not just there that The Cranberries are dominating: their album Stars: The Best Of Cranberries 1992-2002 is sitting at number two in the iTunes chart.
Born in 1971, in County Limerick, Ireland. In 1990, Delores auditoned for lead singer in The Cranberry Saw Us (which later changed its name to The Cranberries), releasing five albums with the band before a 2003 hiatus.

In May of last year, Delores publicly talked about her bipolar disorder, explaining how the recently reformed band had cancelled the remainder of their tour due to her mental health struggle.
Her publicist confirmed the sad news in a statement yesterday, saying that ‘No further details are available at this time’ and that the family were ‘devastated’ to learn of the tragedy and requested privacy.
