Courts: 18-year-old ordered into special program

A New London judge Monday ordered a Norwich man who has posted bond totaling $285,000 in four pending criminal cases into an alternative incarceration program.Merzilas Braboy, 18, of Norwich appeared in New London’s Part A court Monday on his latest arrest by Norwich police on drug dealing charges. Braboy is also a suspect in a shooting outside The Wauregan apartment complex on Broadway and has two other pending cases. Handy ordered Braboy to seek a job and report to Alternative Incarceration Center in New London, which provides supervision to defendants in criminal cases. Braboy is due in court Jan. 8.
