County auditor resigns, investigation underway

Jun. 13—Ector County's auditor, Randy Donner, resigned Monday morning after being called into a meeting with County Judge Dustin Fawcett and the HR director.

Fawcett said Tuesday an investigation by an outside agency into possible financial irregularities is underway and that an interim from within the department will be utilized. Donner had been auditor for four years and with Ector County for 16 years.

Fawcett said there would be no other comment as an outside agency continues the investigation and also declined to name the agency.

The auditor is appointed by district judges.
