New country music festival to take over the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales

GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — A country music festival is headed to Gonzales as part of a seven-stop tour.

Rock The Country is a two-day festival that stops in small towns across the nation. Gonzales is the first stop of the tour.

On Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7, listen to your favorite and even new country artists at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center. This year’s headliners include Kid Rock, Jason Aldean and Hank Williams Jr.

“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone to our city next month, and we’re grateful to all attendees and those who worked hard to bring Rock the Country to Gonzales,” said Mayor Barney Arceneaux. “We look forward to an unforgettable experience with an incredible lineup and the opportunity to share our Southern hospitality!”

Karaoke bar in Gonzales announces move

The theme of the first day of the festival is in honor of duck calls and overalls. Guests are encouraged to wear their best hunting gear, whether it be camouflage or bright orange.

Parking will be available starting at noon. The doors of the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center will open at 3 p.m. on both days.

At 4 p.m., Kolby Cooper will take the stage, and right after guests can listen to Elvie Shane at 5 p.m. Travis Tritt will take the stage at 6 p.m., followed by Koe Wetzel at 7:45 p.m. To end the night, Jason Aldean will headline at 9:30 p.m.

On day two of the festival, festival-goers can wear their favorite red, white and blue attire to represent the United States.

At 3:30 p.m., Sadie Bass will open the festival, and at 4 p.m. Gavin Adcock will take the stage. Following their performance, Uncle Kracker will perform at 5 p.m., followed by Big & Rich featuring Gretchen Wilson at 6:15 p.m., Hank Williams Jr. at 7:45 p.m., a special guest at 9 p.m., and Kid Rock to close out the festival at 9:45 p.m.
