COS Airport adding live music with local musicians

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) announced a new initiative that aims to infuse the local music scene into the airport.

According to COS, “flyTunes” will feature live performances from local artists year-round. Artists can apply to perform on the airport’s website. Artists will be given an honorarium of $75 per hour and can schedule performances of up to two hours.

“flyTunes is our way of celebrating the musical landscape of Colorado Springs and welcoming travelers with the authentic sounds of our community,” said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation. “We believe that live music adds a special touch to the airport experience, and we are excited to provide a stage for talented local artists.”

COS said all music presented at flyTunes is family-friendly. Artists who apply will undergo a review process to ensure their performance aligns with the program’s goals and standards.

Previously COS provided music during the holiday season and the new program seeks to expand on the tradition to be year-round.
