Coronation Street has released a dramatic new trailer for next week's special episodes, which promise to finally reveal what happened to missing Lauren Bolton.

ITV has already confirmed that the soap will air every evening next week, continuing its annual tradition of airing a full week of special episodes alongside the live Britain's Got Talent semi-final rounds.

With the week set to resolve the three month mystery of teenager Lauren's fate, the trailer teases a new perspective on the night that she disappeared, as well as huge new twists as Roy Cropper's life is put in danger and evil Nathan Curtis firmly arrives on the police's radar.

The first four episodes of the week will relive the same day through the eyes of different characters, with one episode focusing on Sarah Barlow as she becomes determined to rid daughter Bethany Platt of her former abuser Nathan once and for all.

As Bethany threatens to leave Weatherfield again due to Nathan's reappearance, Sarah is determined to prove that Nathan is behind Lauren's disappearance. She is heard saying in the trailer that "there is nothing I wouldn't do to protect my daughter from that man" – could the mystery package she is holding in the clip have anything to do with her plans?

Viewers will also see Carla Barlow and Bobby Crawford coming under increasing pressure, as they are accused of perverting the course of justice as they try to clear Roy's name. Carla is seen speaking to DS Swain in the trailer about "other suspects" in the case – and the police officer does appear to now have Nathan in her sights.

With the evidence against Nathan mounting, could the police have found their culprit or is there more to the situation?

Meanwhile, Dee-Dee Bailey is still fighting for justice for Roy, but Roy is about to find himself in serious danger in prison, as he continues to await trial for Lauren's murder.

With far-right activist Griff Reynolds back in Weatherfield prison, he takes it upon himself to try and force a confession from Roy. Believing that he has killed Lauren, vengeful Griff has a score to settle and Roy's life hangs in the balance as Griff resolves to "put him out of his misery".

But amongst the drama unfolding, a valuable piece of evidence comes to light which could clear Roy's name as a shocking revelation is made. With Hope Stape seen in the trailer clutching a necklace that she has found, could the jewellery hold all the answers?

With the clip also promising flashbacks of Lauren on the night that she disappeared, the end of the week will bring answers to some of the big mysteries that the soap has been building over the past few months.

Executive Producer Iain MacLeod said: "This week is so gripping and unlike anything Coronation Street has done before, in terms of the story-telling. It's modern, really exciting and has some of our favourite characters right in the middle of the drama."

He added that this week's episodes are "the launchpad for a massive new chapter in that narrative – so you really won't want to miss it, if you want to carry on trying to piece together this thrilling puzzle!"

Corrie's special week of episodes will air between Monday 27 and Friday 31 May at 7.30pm.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
