Pretty much every Coronation Street viewer got a shock last week as it emerged that Andy was actually alive and was being held hostage by Pat Phelan.

Actor Oliver Farnworth has already revealed the crew went to extreme lengths to cover up his return to make sure fans were surprised by the storyline – and he's let slip a few more secrets.

"We've been hiding from the press, we've been going undercover and trying to avoid them like the plague," he joked in a Facebook Q&A.

Well, that worked out perfectly.

One viewer asked if the storyline could be heading toward Phelan's dirty dealings being exposed over Christmas, and Oliver responded with a coy "watch this space" – which is very interesting indeed.

There were also a lot of fans wanting to talk about Andy's beard and hair situation and whether he had access to a hairdresser in captivity.

Think about it: he's been held captive for about eight months now and he's not really managed to grow much more than a bit of scruff – and his hair's not looking too bad considering.

We'll no doubt find out more about what's happened during the time Andy has been held hostage soon enough and hopefully see Phelan finally get exposed.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
